Let's Start our voyage!

Living on a boat can be fun. There will be over 500 students and 40 faculty on the boat. So, we each have small spaces where we live.  In addition, we have classes on the boat every day. We are learning about the places where we will be traveling so that we know about them when we arrive.

We will start our voyage in San Diego, California on January 2 when all of the teachers will meet to get on the boat. We will spend three days getting ready for the students and they will come to the boat on January 5.

Our first trip will be about 5 days long. We will travel from the Pacific Coast of California to the island of Hawaii.

Arriving in Hawaii

After the 600 students joined us on the ship, we set off for Hawaii.  We were on the ship for 7 days and we finally arrived in Honolulu on January 12,2017.  Hawaii is known for its beautiful beaches and sunshine. We also had some delicious shrimp and pineapple ice cream.  It was delicious.  We visited beaches where there were surfers and huge waves. Take a look at the video.  Our next stop will be on January 24, 2017 in Japan!

Hello Tokyo!!!

Everyone was excited to arrive a the port of Kobe in Japan. We had been living on the ship for 22 days and we had some rough seas.  Some of us got sick and it was really hard for the students to read their homework when the oceans were rough. But- finally, we arrived and we were ready for some adventure, good seafood, delicious Kobe beef and to experience some of the sites all around Japan.

We were super excited to visit  Disney Shanghai.  It. just opened in June 2016 and. was a huge park.  We wanted to see if Disney had songs in English, Cantonese or Mandarin and we also wanted to see if the rides and foods were different.  It was a really cold day, but we had a great time.

Shanghai Disney World

Migrations means moving something. Chinese New Year in China’s the largest migration of people in the world. Why? Because so many Chinese have chosen to move to the cities for jobs.  When the holiday comes, they like to go home to see their family. So the busy cities become less busy and the villages become more busy.

ANCIENT WATER VILLAGE

One evening I signed up for. food tour of Shanghai. We  went to many restaurants and tasted dumplings, lotus root, octopus and more.
